A little bit about us
JAS IP Consulting is a small, independent intellectual property law firm

Mr. Small's technical education and background is in applied
mathematics, and his legal education focused on intellectual property
law. He has experience in most every facet of intellectual property rights
development and enforcement, including developing and implementing

range of domestic and international patent prosecution experience, Mr.
Small also has extensive expertise in licensing and commercial
transactions, and additional experience in general corporate and
securities matters.
Mr. Small has served as associate general patent counsel for a fortune

numbering in the tens of thousands of patents. He has also helped
start several companies, literally from the garage up. Several of these

of the company's legal affairs, from intellectual property to real estate
matters, and everything in between.

What our experience brings to our clients
With this broad and extensive base of experience, JAS IP Consulting
can bring a high level of expertise and efficiency to client's intellectual
property rights matters.
First and foremost, our focus is on quality. Through years of experience,
we have seen efforts to protect intellectual property succeed and fail.
These experiences have led to a unique focus on crafting programs and
specific protection able to withstand challenges to validity, whether
based on the state of the prior art or the process by which the rights
were obtained, yet provide the broadest protection possible. The net
result is broad and enforceable property rights which protect our client's
intellectual property and give them an advantage in the marketplace.
Through many years of working with technology and intellectual property
rights, both from the client and the service provider perspective, we
realize that a shared vision with our clients is a critical factor in providing
quality intellectual property counseling. Accordingly, we strive to be
viewed as adjunct members of a client's organization, bringing both skill
and a sense of teamwork to the task, as well as dependability and a
personal stake in the outcome of our work.
Finally, we recognize that there are cost constraints, even in the most
extensive of intellectual property development programs. And having
worked with numerous outside counsel, we are sensitive to the
challenges of managing outside counsel in a cost-effective way.
Therefore, through efficient practice, low overhead, and the
aforementioned personal stake in the outcome of our work, JAS IP
Consulting offers its clients cost-sensitive services without sacrificing
the quality of the final work product.
